Ukodhiko, Royal Fathers, Dignitaries Storm Oyede for Chief Eta’s Daughter’s Wedding
The Member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly and Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Science and Technology, Rep. Pastor Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, on Saturday attended the traditional marriage ceremony of Miss Uzezi Eta, daughter of High Chief Eta Enahoro, the Iyasere of Oyede Kingdom.
Miss Uzezi was traditionally joined in matrimony with her beloved husband, Mr. Barilee Thankgod, in a colourful ceremony held at Camp David Villa, Oyede, in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The event, which was marked by a rich display of Isoko cultural heritage, attracted family members, friends, political associates, traditional rulers, and dignitaries from across and beyond the constituency. Guests were treated to moments of celebration, cultural performances, and the joyful solemnization of the union.
Rep. Ukodhiko, while gracing the occasion, joined other well-wishers in celebrating with the families of High Chief Eta Enahoro and Mr. Barilee Thankgod, describing marriage as a sacred institution that should be built on love, mutual respect, and understanding.
The traditional marriage ceremony also witnessed the presence of several notable personalities, including Prof. Chris Akpotu, President of IDU; Chief Solomon Ogba, elder statesman; Chief Ovuozoye Macaulay, former Secretary to the State Government and elder statesman; Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, pioneer Speaker; Chief Iduh Amadhe, Grand Patron of IDU; Hon. Joseph Onojaeme, Delta State Commissioner for Health; Hon. The colourful ceremony further reflected the unity, cultural pride, and strong communal bonds that define the Isoko people, as guests celebrated the successful union amidst joy and festivity.
